Vaginal Microbiome Testing 101
If you experience recurrent thrush, bacterial vaginosis or unexplained vaginal symptoms, you may have been told that your vaginal swab is “normal.”
But your symptoms are still there.
This can be confusing and frustrating. It may also leave you wondering whether something has been missed.
A standard vaginal swab and a vaginal microbiome test can both provide useful information. However, they do not test for exactly the same things. Understanding the difference can help you decide which option may be most appropriate for you.
We Won Silver in the Clean + Conscious Awards 2026
We're so excited to share that our Intimate Lubricating Serum was recognised with Silver in the 2026 Clean + Conscious Awards, in the Best Intimate Care/Sexual Wellbeing category.
Back in May, we shared the news that we'd been named a Finalist - one step in a judging process that, this year, assessed over 600 products across more than 130 categories, shortlisted by a panel of 93 respected voices from across the conscious living space. From there, finalists moved through final hands-on judging by the Expert Panel, and we've now come out the other side with Silver.
Bacterial Vaginosis: A Complete Guide for Women
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is one of the most common vaginal conditions affecting women, yet it is still widely misunderstood and under-explained. If you have BV — or recurrent BV that keeps coming back despite treatment — please know that this is not a hygiene failure or something you have done wrong.
This article covers what BV actually is, what drives it, the evidence-based options for managing it (both medical and natural), and how perimenopause and menopause affect the picture — because that connection is rarely discussed.
We're a Finalist in the Clean + Conscious Awards 2026
We're proud to share that our Intimate Lubricating Serum has been named a Finalist in the Clean + Conscious Awards 2026 - recognised in the intimate care and sexual wellbeing category.
It's the kind of acknowledgement that affirms what sits at the core of everything we make: that the products we use on our most sensitive areas deserve rigour, integrity and genuine care in their formulation.
Intimate anatomy 101: Understanding your vulva, vagina and pelvic floor
Intimate anatomy is central to health, comfort and confidence - yet for most of us, a proper introduction was never part of the curriculum. No diagrams. No explanation of how structure connects to function, or how function shapes care.
This guide changes that.
Understanding your anatomy isn’t about memorising terms. It’s about autonomy. When you know what each part does, you’re better equipped to recognise what’s normal, what may need medical attention, and how to care for your body in a way that supports, rather than disrupts, its natural balance.
Love and care beyond Valentine’s Day: Why intimate care should be a year-round approach.
Valentine's Day has this beautiful, alluring, romantic way of putting a spotlight on love, whether that’s galentines love or romantic love, and I’m here for that.
The flowers arrive, dinner reservations are booked, the “special” lingerie drawer opens, the toy box gets unlocked. And for a day, we’re reminded of the importance of play, exploration and intimate care.
And while I love this reminder…I don’t love how short-lived it can be. It puts the spotlight on all these important, often fulfilling rituals for 24-hrs and then the 15th rolls round and it’s back to not reaching for pleasure, not caring for our intimate bodies and “not having time” for ourselves.
In conversation: Meet Gemma McLeod
Maebl recently had the pleasure of chatting with Gemma McLeod, a degree-qualified naturopath who has a special interest in women’s health. With a holistic yet evidence-based approach, Gemma supports her clients in cultivating long-term wellbeing through nutrition, lifestyle strategies, targeted supplementation, and herbal medicine. Together, we glimpse into her daily practice, explore what motivates her, and, naturally, dive deep on the topic of the vaginal microbiome.
